La Dolce Vita: The Sweet Life Retreat For Women

May 26 – June 2, 2018 Tuscany, Italy

Only Three Spaces Remaining!

To be truly alive, we must move, create, laugh, play, give of ourselves, and be open to receive. We know how easy it can be to get caught up in our daily routines and forget that our lives are to be enjoyed!

What better way to reset than to spend a week in a charming 18th century Tuscan villa nestled in the hills? Give yourself permission to press pause on the mundane and join us for this decadent respite; you’ll dive into your yoga practice, explore the Italian countryside, enjoy delectable meals, nurture your body, mind and spirit, and rediscover the sweetness of life. We’ll even participate in a cooking class to learn some of the secrets of traditional Italian foods!

There will be time to develop new relationships, and time to spend alone. You can participate as much or as little as you like, taking time to hike beautiful trails, go for a swim, nap, journal, and sample the local gelato. There will be plenty to do on the beautiful grounds, and you may also choose to take an excursion or two into nearby villages. This promises to be a sweet holiday you will always remember and hold in your heart, long after you return home.

Rebecca and Lisa are thrilled to be leading this retreat. These skilled and intuitive instructors will guide you through a variety of nurturing practices, including yoga nidra, gentle flow, yin and restoratives. These ladies share a passion for helping women to feel at ease in their bodies and minds, in order to savor the richness of life. La Dolce Vita!

All yoga will be accessible and adaptable for varied levels of skill and ability.

Lisa Feder

Lisa is a full-time yoga instructor and wellness consultant living in Austin, Texas. She has had a passion for all things wellness for as long as she can remember. While working for over 20 years in the corporate world as a strategic marketing specialist, she began teaching fitness classes in her free time. This led her to explore yoga, and she fell in love with the way it made her and her students feel—physically, emotionally, and energetically. After teaching part-time for many years, she took the leap and started Being Well Yoga, where she brings yoga on-site to companies to help employees learn how to live healthier, more balanced lives. She also teaches in studios, schools, senior centers, parks, and private homes. Her approach is balanced, and she likes to bring humor, challenge, and deep relaxation into her practices.

Lisa is especially interested in helping students find a yoga practice that really works for them, and she believes that yoga can provide more ease and comfort to all. She has seen the effects of a healthy lifestyle on her family as well and wants to share. As a wellness coach, Lisa loves helping people explore how to incorporate healthy habits into their daily lives in a fun and sustainable way. One of her programs, a Week of Being Well, is an inclusive and integrated approach to mindfulness in eating, working, exercising, meditating, media usage, and sleeping. Her favorite thing is hearing about the positive changes her participants make for themselves.

Another workshop, “A Sigh of Relief,” teaches how yoga practices can be used during the day to manage stress before it becomes chronic. She also loves working with new Yoga teachers as they start their careers.

Lisa, RYT-500, E-RYT-200, incorporates many yoga traditions into her practices. She has certifications in Hatha, Hatha Flow, Kundalini, and I-rest Yoga Nidra. She has had the opportunity to study with Donna Farhi, Sean Corne, Sarah Powers, Anodea Judith, Beth Shaw, Amy Weintraub, Gary Kraftsow, and Richard Miller. All of these wonderful teachers have shared wisdom that informs her teaching, and she is grateful to them all.

Lisa received a BSBA in Spanish and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis. She is fluent in Spanish, having fallen in love with the language during her junior year studying in Bogota, Colombia. She has served as President of the Board of Community Yoga, an organization that brings yoga to underserved communities. She currently serves on the Board of Power for Parkinson’s, which improves the quality of life for Parkinson’s patients through dance and movement classes. She lives in Austin with her husband and has two active offspring–a daughter and a son in college.

This retreat was spectacularly crafted to offer all who attended the space to open within and also connect with an amazing group of like-minded, strong, powerful women. The teachings offered took us on an internal journey in a most magnificent setting of nature and were beautifully woven together with inspiration and life lessons. We were pampered in lovely accommodations with delicious meals and every detail mindfully tended. All of the women with whom I have stayed connected with since returning home have struggled to put into words the magnitude of this experience. We were fortunate enough to get a real taste of the essence of Costa Rica, or more simply put… Pura Vida!

Rebecca Risher

Rebecca has been a full-time yoga teacher for more than a decade; her classes provide a safe, healing space well-suited for all levels of experience ‍and ideal for those seeking comfort and ease in stillness. Rebecca encourages you to delve into self awareness by exploring the deeper, hidden layers of the self that are in need of acknowledgement and processing. She keeps classes as simple and quiet as possible in order to allow students to decompress and release.

Rebecca is extensively trained in both the Hatha and Kundalini traditions, specializing in Yoga Nidra, Yin, and Restorative. She has trained with a diverse range of teachers exposing her to an assortment of styles. Some of her most influential include Paul Grilley, Yin and Judith Lasater, Restorative. Erich Schiffmann is her soul teacher and reminds her of the importance of trusting her inner guidance, remembering that we all are connected, and accepting that intuition is the true source of wisdom.

Rebecca received her BA in Psychology from University of Dallas in Irving, TX, and spent a semester studying in Italy. There, she fell in love with the art, architecture, and magic of the old world and has always dreamt of going back to further explore. After a few years of struggling to accept the corporate world, the magnetism from her practice developed into an intense desire to share the practice and she began teaching Hatha Yoga. The personal and spiritual growth that resulted from being fully immersed in the yoga world changed everything for her and she has never looked back. The thirst for knowledge and growth never wanes and after settling into teaching, Kundalini training was the natural next step. While Hatha allows for a slower process and integration, Kundalini shakes things up and elevates one’s passion and vitality. After diligently training and studying, Rebecca completed her 500hr KY certification in 2016.

Presently, Rebecca resides in Austin, TX, and spends her days teaching yoga and  meditation, and creating one-of-a-kind malas. She teaches at several studios around town, offers private classes in her home studio, and teaches corporate classes during the week. Her mala shop, Rebecca Moon Designs, can be found on Etsy.com, and she considers making malas to be a big part of her mediation practice, as she chants mantra while she works.

Out of all the yoga teachers in Austin, Rebecca has a special resonance with me. Through her teachings, I can always count on feeling more grounded spiritually, at peace emotionally, and at ease physically. Rebecca’s intuitive wisdom and caring guidance allows us to melt into our true nature, thus putting us in touch with our own divinity. I highly recommend her classes, retreats, and offerings!
